The Diaspora Herald
About Us
The Diaspora Herald is an independent digital newspaper reporting on the lives, ideas and influence of diaspora communities around the world. We publish daily coverage of business and remittances, immigration policy, politics, culture, sport, and education and scholarships — always through the lens of readers whose lives span more than one country.
What makes our journalism different is the way it is organised. Every story is filed under both the country where our readers live and the heritage country their story connects to, so a Nigerian family in Britain, a Filipino nurse in Canada or a Ghanaian student in the United States can find reporting written with their specific reality in mind. Our regional editions localise the front page, while our Community Directory helps readers find trusted services near them.
The Herald is built and edited by a small, distributed team of reporters and editors who have themselves lived between countries. We verify facts, identify our sources, separate news from opinion, label every commercial relationship clearly, and correct substantive errors promptly and openly. Advertising and directory sponsorships fund our work, and they never influence what we choose to report.
We welcome tips, corrections and story ideas from the communities we serve. If our reporting matters to you, the best way to support it is to read it, share it and tell us what we are missing.
